Merck requires 3rd party certification for suppliers to be included in the Supplier Diversity Program and recognizes a number of agencies and organizations for 3rd party MWSDVBE certification. These include: Regional affiliates of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC), Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC), U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Asian American Supplier Council, State and municipal government agencies, and the Supplier Clearinghouse. Merck accepts certification only from those organizations / agencies who recognize Minority, Woman, and Service Disabled Veteran-owned Business Enterprises (MWSDVBEs) as at least 51% owned, operated, and controlled by minority, women and/or veteran group members.

This database is used by Merck procurement professionals to search for suppliers, based on products or services required.
