ANIMAL HEALTH EDUCATION

We're helping to train veterinary students and workers in the animal care industry.

Animal HealthMerck Animal Health is committed to supporting education for veterinary students and continuing education for veterinarians and animal husbandry workers. We understand that the vital role these professionals play in keeping animals healthy also helps keep humans healthy.

Merck Animal Health's support encompasses a wide range of animal health-related educational programs around the world. Merck Animal Health's support includes:

  • Providing scholarships to veterinary students pursuing careers in large animal medicines in the U.S., and supporting award programs for outstanding veterinary students in Portugal and the Philippines.
  • Developing the Dairy Care365 Training Series, a program to educate U.S. dairy farm workers in best practices for handling and managing dairy cattle.

The courses are conducted in collaboration with the Dutch Animal Health Service. For the past three years, an extended level course on poultry has been conducted in collaboration with the University of Georgia's Department of Poultry Science in the U.S.
