- Merck's Office of Diversity and Work Environment will continue to expand our Flexible Work Arrangement Policy globally.
- Increase the percent of employees who "strongly agree" or "agree" that they are satisfied with the opportunity to work flexibly to 80 percent (from 58 percent) by 2010.
- Increase overall engagement of employees in program by 10 percent by 2010.
- In response to the survey findings, Merck's Office of Diversity and Work Life will work to build organizational awareness of Merck's Flexible Work Arrangements Policy by:
- Holding senior briefings;
- Providing manager education and support;
- Creating employee communications and training; and
- Training human resources as subject matter experts.
- Merck also will conduct flexibility pilots in business areas with greatest opportunity and need, including our manufacturing and global sales and marketing division.
- Merck has begun formally tracking global use of our flexible work arrangements in 2009 and is committed to reporting this information in future reports.
