Disaster and Emergency Relief

Advancing the Dialogue Toward a Healthier Future

Overview Approach Performance Priorities and Goals

  • Merck will continue to participate in the relief and recovery public/private partnership established by the White House and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) following the May 12, 2008 earthquake that destroyed Sichuan Province, China. The partnership will help address the province's major infrastructure needs.
  • Merck believes that disaster relief and recovery require strong prevention efforts. We will work to identify cutting edge programs that protect and rebuild our natural barriers, and to raise awareness about prevention.
