Greenhouse Gas Emissions

During 2006, Merck generated 1,335,500 metric tons of CO2 worldwide from combustion sources and fleet vehicles. Combustion sources accounted for 85.8% of these emissions while fleet vehicles accounted for 14.2%. During the period 2004 to 2006, emissions of total CO2, decreased by 8.0%.
