Actinic Purpura

Also called Bateman's, solar, or senile purpura, actinic purpura appears as nonpalpable ecchymotic areas usually on the extensor forearms of the elderly. They are thought to represent extravasation of RBCs from fragile vessels in photodamaged connective tissue. Image also demonstrates depigmented stellate pseudoscars, a sign of photoaging.
