A variety of abnormal growths (tumors) can develop throughout the digestive system, from the esophagus to the anus, as well as in the liver (see Tumors of the Liver: Introduction), gallbladder (see Gallbladder and Bile Duct Disorders: Tumors of the Bile Ducts and Gallbladder), and pancreas. Some of these tumors are noncancerous (benign), whereas others are cancerous (malignant).
