Providing mathematical tools for drug design
The Applied Computer Science and Mathematics Department (ACSM) augments the traditional combination of biology and medicinal chemistry with the quantitative sciences to satisfy the growing need for modeling, machine intelligence and pattern recognition in modern pharmaceutical research.
The department, based in Rahway, NJ, is composed of mathematicians and computer scientists who interact with MRL research sites worldwide. These experts develop mathematical methods that address problems related to data mining and modeling, high throughput screening, assay development, toxicology, enzyme inhibition, proteomics and many other areas. For example, in the area of genomics, ACSM has developed state-of-the-art gene expression analysis techniques that have contributed to the acceleration of the successful usage of gene arrays at MRL.
ACSM needs individuals with expertise in mathematics and/or computer sciences who want to apply that knowledge to fascinating problems in the biomedical sciences related to pharmaceutical R&D. If you have an advance degree in either of these disciplines, submit your resume to be considered for the exciting career opportunities available in the MRL Applied Computer Science and Mathematics Department.
