In November 2016, two weeks before Thanksgiving, Christopher (Chris) Hinson, Employee Health and Safety Lead at our Durham manufacturing facility, learned that his father, Robert Hinson, was diagnosed with cancer and needed a medicine that is made in Chris’ plant.

“Working for a pharmaceutical company that supplies medicines for so many people around the world should be a great feeling for any employee.  For me, working for the company that makes a medicine that my dad took is almost indescribable,” said Chris.

“I am proud to be a Merck employee, I am humbled to work in Durham, and I am honored to be the EHS Lead as we work to increase our production of this important product. Sometimes, being a part of something might just become more special than you ever imagined.”
